I have a samsung a237 cell phone from at & t. It was powered down and back on and now it is asking for a passc?

The phone is locked now and we can't figure out the passcode and the phone company says that there is no default. They said that we need to type it wrong until it asks for a puk code and then they can give that to me. Can anyone help?

What they advised you is correct. If you type in an incorrect ciode 10 times then it will ask for the PUK code which they can give you or you can go online to www.wireless.att.com and get it from there. The other alternative would be to da a master reset.
