Samsung Sch-u540 Review - a Review of the Samsung Sch-u540 Cell Phone

The Samsung SCH-U540 is a flip phone with very good camera and digital video technology. The phone is equipped with a 2GB microSDâ„¢ memory card slot. The internal TFT display is 262K with a resolution of 176 by 220 pixels, and the external STN display is 65K with a resolution of 96 by 96 pixels. The VGA 1.3 megapixel camera features 4-step digital zoom, LED flash, autofocus, and various photo effects. The user can also choose their photo quality settings and send their photos over text or voice messages.

The Samsung SCH-U540 has a digital media player that is capable of playing MP3, MIDI, ACC and ACC+ files. The phone includes 72-note ringtones as well as the capacity for MP3 ringtones. Embedded Java games, wallpaper and Java download all come with the standard phone. When closed, the Samsung SCH-U540 measures 4.07†high, 2.0†wide, and 0.5†thick.

The most interesting feature of the Samsung SCH-U540 is its microSD memory card slot, which enables users to store extra material that they download into their phone. However, the phone has many useful features, including 2-way MO/MT SMS / EMS / MMS messaging, instant messaging, and predictive text input. The phone book holds up to 500 entries, plus the extra 250 entries that the phone card is capable of holding. Voice memo and voicemail come standard, as well as speakerphone, voice recognition and multiparty functions. The phone retains information on dialed, missed and received calls for the user’s convenience.

The Samsung SCH-U540 operates on the CDMA 1x 800/1900MHz digital only band - as well as on EVDO. Users can talk for up to 3.54 hours on a standard battery, or for up to 6.28 hours on a long-life battery. The phone can stand by for up to 220 hours on a standard battery, or for up to 300 hours on a long-life battery. Personal Information Management functions include calendar, memo book and currency converter.
