Samsung Marketing Strategies

Is Samsung 2233SW really full HD 1080p?
Well.......I'm confused coz I never saw the HD 1080p golden logo in the product spec sheet at Samsung's (USA) website + IT IS TOO TOO TOO MUCH CHEAP!! WAY BEYOND MY EXPECTATIONS. What's written is "upto 1920 * 1024 full HD resolution", but that's confusing. My old CRT supports 1920 * 1024 resolution, but does that mean that it's HD?? why not ? isn't it 1920 * 1024 which is the spec of full HD? or is it a marketing strategy by Samsung so that ppl seeing the 1920 full HD written will be convinced to purchase at an extremely low price? is the resolution so vital to make a high quality video look very real? or does the display need to have a very good HD mechanism other than the resolution to display gr8 pic? do HDTV really blow out HD Monitors in terms of Image Quality? say a 22 inch Bravia vs 2233SW (i know it's lame) video wise?
oopps...care to change 1920 x 1024 to 1920 X 1080....sry
Yes, the Samsung 2233SW is full-HD. The screen itself has an actual physical grid of picture elements 1920 pixels wide and 1080 pixels tall, and 1920x1080 resolution is 1080p High Definition.
I doubt your old CRT monitor does 1080p. CRTs are 3:4 aspect ratio, while 1080p High Definition is 16:9 ratio. And those CRT monitors that does 2048x1536 are those really expensive units for professional applications, usually with 5BNC connectors.
Personally, I don't like small monitors with very high resolutions. When they cram so many pixels into such a small viewing area, the individual pixels are way too small (very high dot-pitch), making standard text very tiny. I rather run 1080p on a 52" LCD. 1920x1080 pixels on a much bigger display area means the text is nice and big and easy to read: http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f347/armchairaviator/computer/IMG_0880c.jpg
By the way, a 22-inch Bravia would have a resolution of 1366x768. Good enough for 720p High Definition, but NOT good enough for 1080p Full High Definition.
