Samsung Buzz Problem
Samsung DLP buzzing noise!?
I have a 4 year old Samsung DLP, model: HLP5063W. After the SET has been on for a while a loud buzzing noise starts coming from the back of the set. The picture and sound are still great and I don't get any messages on the screen. Could this be a color wheel issue or a cooling fan problem since it starts buzzing after the tv has been on for a bit?
You have made two good guesses. If it's the color wheel it will soon start to show incorrect color, so you'll know for sure. If it continues to buzz without color distortion, it's probably a fan. Just wait a little, one or the other will become obvious.
You could also try vacuuming all the rear vents in case it's overheating. Cleaning the vents can help a lot.
