Will getting an 8GB memory card slow down my phone?

I have the Samsung Rant and i put a 2GB card in it and my phone is really slow now like my old RAZR that i threw out my window because it was too slow. I'm at the same point with this phone now.

So basically i want to get the Samsung moment, will an 8 or 16GB card slow it down even though it has an 800 mhz processor?

No, it won't as long as you do not put many applications useless in it(so, only songs, images and little apps). Because the apps still run in systems and use RAM, so it makes your phone getting slow down.
