Samsung B3410 Available on Orange Mobile UK

Carphone Warehouse has the semi-exclusive rights to distribute the Samsung B3410, whether this is a timed exclusive is yet to be known, but for now, they are the folks making this phone available to the UK.

Through Carphone Warehouse, Orange Mobile clients can avail of the device in various Orange Dolphin Plans. Of these offers, the Dolphin 35 provides a great deal for heavy device users. Now, there are actually better ‘well-rounded’ deals by Orange. But the B3410 is a device that is made for heavy mobile phone users. The Dolphin 30 for 24 months is twice the price of the Dolphin 15, but it delivers more than twice the value.

For 30 Pounds a month at 24 months, the Dolphin 30 gives you 600 minutes of talk time to any network and unlimited texting, along with a nice choice of a free gift (the Sony PSP Go provides excellent value along with the ASUS X5DC Laptop).

Phone Design

For anyone who is utterly disappointed with the design of the Samsung B3310, its predecessor is a very welcome improvement that does away with the design flaws of the B3310 (more on that later).

The B3410 provides an excellent design aesthetic, ergonomics and a very profound flow in the design. The elements of the phone, the touch screen, the front buttons, the slide out keyboard and the back casing are in a seamless composition that makes you just want to pick up the phone and tinker around with it. The software is also a nice graphic treat, Samsung’s proprietary TouchWiz interface is a fun as ever; providing users with a smooth and responsive interface to interact with.

Phone Specs

The Samsung B3410 mobile phone gives you excellent hardware for a good price. This may just be a GSM phone, but its packs some pretty great features that places it on the higher end of the 2G roster.

It features a 2.6 inch touch screen with a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels, it can display up to 256 thousand colors and the brightness is pretty good. The 2 mega pixel camera takes 1600 x 1200 resolution images, not as high def as on other devices, but this is clear enough to print in a small size in vivid detail.

The device features Mp3 and Mp4 playback capabilities, a BT messenger and voice memo. The battery gives you up to 670 hours of standby time, so expect to get long hours of usage before needing to charge.

The internal memory is a scant 30MB, but thankfully, you can pop in a micro SD card to take care of all storage needs. The phone itself can keep up to 1000 contacts (with photocall) and can track up to the last thirty calls made, received and missed.

The phone is a hefty 102.3 x 52.4 x 15.9 mm, small for a smart phone, but still a little on slightly bulky for a 2G device. It is still slim enough to slide into your favorite pocked or sleeve.
